Just like in the old days! This type of carpet cleaning is both effective and environmentally friendly, and did we mention absolutely gorgeous!? It also makes a beautiful piece of decor. Rug beaters were in common use until vacuum cleaners became available in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This vintage item is missing the binding at the end of the handle as shown in photos as well as having some areas where the wood stain has worn away from use.
