I'll never forget the summer we visited my uncle Marty in St. Louis and went to an antique mall. It was my first time in such a place, and truth be told, the emotion that overcame me was not overwhelm but confusion. Why would anyone want to buy someone else's junk? I didn't understand. You see, although I come from a long line of folks who happen to love hanging other people's old stuff on their walls, it wasn't until I began making a home of my own that I began to understand why buying secondhand was so rewarding.
