Meet Amelia! This hand-stitched hexagon diamond mosaic quilt is a show stopper. Soft yet vibrant, this vintage beauty would be lovely on a cottage bed or artfully draped over the back of a cozy sofa. "English Paper Piecing" (EPP) is a quilting technique that originated in England in the 1700s.

The earliest known hexagon quilt pattern was found in England in 1770, and the technique became popular in the early 1800s. The first hexagon pattern was published in Godey's Ladies Book in 1835, and the pattern spread quickly due to the British origins and association with elegance.

Quilts are special for their unique blend of artistry, history, and craftsmanship. Each handmade quilt is a labor of love, reflecting the quilter's creativity and skill while often preserving family heritage and cultural traditions. They provide warmth and comfort, symbolizing love and care, and serve as tangible expressions of personal stories or historical events.

The communal aspect of quilting fosters a sense of community and shared tradition, while the sustainable practice of using fabric scraps highlights resourcefulness. We believe the process of quilting offers therapeutic and meditative benefits, making quilts cherished treasures that embody both emotional and practical significance.

Please Note | This is a one of a kind vintage piece. All images have been minimally edited with the use of natural light to best reflect the true condition of the item. Please remember that vintage and antique textiles like quilts were made to be used, and that imperfections they have gotten over the years add to the depth of beauty and charm reflected in this rare and most treasured art form. This quilt is very soft and cozy. There are areas where threads of the patterned pieces have come loose and could be repaired. Some fraying in spots on hem. Interior batting material is balled up inside in areas, likely from being machine-washed in its past. Having said that, we would very happily curl up under this soft and beautiful quilt!
