description

Sheffield silver plate came into being in the mid-1700s with the discovery of how to bond copper and silver, pressed together in sheets. In the late 1760s, it became possible to use pierced decoration to ornament Sheffield silver with the creation of double-sided plating. This piece bears the hallmark of Richard Richardson of Sheffield.

This teapot is absolutely stunning, and whether conjuring up a cup of tea, or displaying vibrant blooms, this piece brings beauty, craftsmanship and history with it. Made in Sheffield, England.
